SimPhonics to install the first of four SMx systems for the KC-10 project this year! SimPhonics has completed the KC-10 Sound systems for Thales Training & Simulation, Tulsa and will begin to install these in the fall. This program was awarded last year and required a sound recording trip with in-flight refueling to obtain sounds and unique cockpit environmentals that are specific only to the KC-10. This mission was completed by SimPhonics personnel out of Travis AFB, with subsequent trips to the UK to view the articulating cockpit. With its 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer, this trainer is sure to be an excellent example of the Sound dynamics and realism that can be achieved with today's technology!
