The Lowcost I/O device (LION) used on this program offer not only the sound and communications for the program, but also the integrated I/O. The LION unit originally developed and integrated by SimPhonics and Raydon Corporation for use on their AFIST and COFT programs. This device utilizes an actual tank, which is connected to the training hardware and software to create a cost effective, real-world training environment. This same design has also been delivered to AAI Engineering Support, Inc. in support of additional Crew Station Interface Controller units. These systems offer much improved performance, lower cost and greater flexibility by utilizing our V+ software over the "traditional" approach.
