BAE SYSTEMS Flight Training Adelaide has installed a high-fidelity generic Boeing 737 Flight Training Device (FTD) manufactured by Frasca International Inc., of Illinois, USA. The general cockpit layout, (including the complete central console and overhead panel) is of the B737-300.
The simulator is designed to resemble most characteristics of a transport category, twin turbojet aircraft of about 100 000 lbs weight. (i.e., about the B737). All equipment, instruments, switches and controls normally installed in an aircraft of that category are operational to the extent necessary for training.
The 737-400 they are currently deliverying, is similar to those that utilized SimPhoincs systems.
