VComm Parametric EQ | |
ID: 2090 |
Object Description |
|
The VComm Parametric EQ object can be used in conjunction with VComm Radio Objects to change the spectral shape (tone control) of a waveform. The object works much like a traditional parametric equalizer, boosting or attenuating a center frequency with a specified bandwidth. Multiple VComm Parametric EQ objects (up to a maximum of 10) can be used together to form complex spectral shapes. The center frequency, bandwidth, and level are exposed as pins on the object, and can be adjusted in real time.
To use the object, simply connect the radio handle output of a radio/intercom object to the radio handle input of this object. The data that is present on the input pins is applied to its respective radio/intercomm object's outgoing transmission stream. Notes:

Input Pins |
|
HANDLE |
Radio HANDLE from either the VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only, the VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS/HLA, or the VComm Simple Intercom (DIS/HLA). |
FREQ |
The FREQ pin represents the center frequency, in Hz, of the equalizer. The value of the center frequency cannot exceed one third of the sampling frequency of the buffer. If an attempt is made to set it to a greater value, the parameter will be limited to the nearest supported value. Range: 80 to 16,000 Hz |
BANDWIDTH |
The BANDWIDTH pin adjusts the slope of the equalizer curve about the center frequency (also known as Q). Range: 1 to 36 semitones |
LEVEL |
The LEVEL pin controls the amount of equalization (gain or attenuation) to be applied. Range: -15 to +15 dB |
Example |
|
In this example, a VComm GENERIC Radio is connected to a VComm Parametric EQ object. The center frequency is set to 1500 with a bandwidth of 10 semitones, and a level of -12 dB. |
