VComm Signal Strength | |
ID: 2018 |
Object Description |
|
The VComm Signal Strength object can be used in conjunction with VComm Radio Objects. It is a VComm monitoring object which attaches to a VComm radio so as to observe the signal strength of any incoming reception. To use the object, simply connect the radio handle output of a radio object to the radio handle input of this object. The output pin can be connected to anything accepting floating point input (such as an output port or a No Connection object). |
|
Input Pin |
|
HNDL |
This input pin determines which radio is monitored by this object. This pin should be connected to the radio handle output pin of the radio object to be controlled. |
Output Pin |
|
LVL |
The output pin produces the signal strength level of an incoming radio reception and is provided in units deciBel-milliwatts (dBm). |
Example |
|
The figure below presents an example of how the VComm Signal Strength object is used with a VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only object. In this example, the signal strngth of an incoming transmission is 19.68 dBm. |
